What Shall I Say?

Now My soul is troubled, and what shall I say? ‘Father, save Me from this hour’? But for this purpose I came to this hour. Father, glorify Your name.” (John 12:27-28)

This portion of Scripture captures the essence of Jesus’ life on earth. All came to this crucial hour, an hour that God would sacrifice His own Son for mankind. On the scale was His own life, and the souls of millions He would save through His own blood.

This leaves us with a question: Is Jesus troubled in soul when He observes your life? When He thinks of His death, is He satisfied with the thought that His death has brought God’s glory forth in you? It was His suffering that brought salvation. This salvation is available also to you.

May we likewise say, “Father, glorify Your name!
