You have heard that it was said, You shall love your neighbor and hate your enemy. But I say to you, love your enemies, bless those who curse you, do good to those who hate you, and pray for those who spitefully use you and persecute you, that you may be sons of your Father in heaven; for He makes His sun rise on the evil and the good, and sends rain on the just and on the unjust. (Matt 5:43-45)
Within these words of Jesus, there is a route of escape from the entanglement of harboring grudges against slanderers. Grudges are like thorns to the inside. Grudges brings bondage and spiritual death. However, there is a way out, when faced with trials and tribulations. Just to return evil with good and to pray for those that persecute you. By doing these simple steps, you are gaining higher spiritual ground. To be of God’s family, to be his sons and daughters. There is no higher calling than that!
