Who God Calls

For you see your calling, brethren, that not many wise according tot the flesh, not many mighty, not many noble, are called. But God has chosen the foolish things of the world to put to shame the wise, and God has chosen the weak things of the world to put to shame the things which are mighty; and the base things of the world and the things which are despised God has chosen, and the things which are not, to bring to nothing the things that are, that no flesh should glory in His presence. (1 Cor 1:26-2)

Within these words, God reveals how He perceives things. God chooses the weak and lowly earthen vessel to reveal His glory. Those that are humble because of their own weaknesses become instruments to put the wisdom of the world to shame. God can choose whoever He wants to do whatever He commands. It is in our human nature to boast. Yet before God all such boasting ceases. He overlooks the proud and talented to take that which is nothing to reveal His power. Would you be willing, weak vessel to cast your life, your all on Him, so that may He cleanse you and use you? Luther once said these words “Lord I am Yours, save me.” Would you do likewise, o broken vessel, that He can fulfill His purposes through you?
