The stone which the builders rejected Has become the chief cornerstone. This is the LORD’s doing. And it is marvelous in our eyes? (Matt 21:42)
Jesus quoted this text from Scripture. God works so vastly different than we humans think. The builders made their choice. They rejected Christ. Yet God chose Him to become the chief cornerstone, giving strength and direction to the whole building. A cornerstone is traditionally the first stone laid for a structure, with all other stones laid in reference to it. If God do something likewise, contrary to our thinking, choosing someone we have rejected, for a task or duty to do for Him, will it be marvelous to us, or will we reject that choice? If we fall on this Cornerstone we will be broken, broken to change, to fit into His house, however, if someone take it upon themselves to take the place of the Cornerstone, and claim authority that God did not ordain, such a person will be grounded into powder as the true Cornerstone takes His rightful place.
