But the path of the just is like the shining sun, That shines ever brighter unto the perfect day. The way of the wicked is like darkness; They do not know what makes them stumble. (Prov 4:18-20)
Within this text two paths are described. A path that is light, where travelers thereon walk in the light, with clear sight. The second is a path of darkness where wicked people feel comfortable, as darkness conceal their deeds, but in doing so they stumble themselves as they can’t observe their next step. Harboring sin create a great darkness within.
