God’S Deliverance

“In my distress I cried to the LORD, And He heard me. Deliver my soul, O LORD, from lying lips And from a deceitful tongue” (Psalm 120:1-2)

Within every trial, God provides a way out. Within this psalm, the author provides a solution to those in distress because of lying lips and a deceitful tongue. Though other lips may lie, may God’s children never do so likewise. The psalmist uses his lips and tongue to cry out to God who is the righteous Judge of all. Those free from a guilty conscious may freely communicate with their God, knowing that He hears and will be swift to answer their prayer at the appropriate time.
