He who does not backbite with his tongue, Nor does evil to his neighbor; Nor does he take up a reproach against his friend. (Ps 14:3)

The tongue is the most difficult member of our bodies to control. It is through the works of the tongue that big fires are set to light destroying countless lives. Once the fire is drawn, it is on a reckless course, and set alight from hell itself. Those loving their neighbor, would held his tongue. It is God’s holy fire from within that keeps tight reign on the tongue. We can plead for this fire to purify us and to offer our tongue to work righteousness wherever we go. We can either feed on words of men or God’s word.
