So when it was evening on that same day, the first day of the week, though the disciples were behind barred doors for fear of the Jews, Jesus came and stood among them, and said, “Peace to you”. (John 20:19)
Within this text, we are told of frightened disciples, disciples that should carry out God’s word but have locked themselves in. Yet, no bars on doors can keep Him in, and as they were trembling with fear, He suddenly stood in their midst. Within a moment their situation changed, their focus changed. As they lingered in His presence, their fear was replaced with deep peace, for He is with them. Is He with you?
