Be still, and know that I am God; I will be exalted among the nations, I will be exalted in the earth. The Lord of hosts is with us; the God of Jacob is our refuge. (Ps 46:10)
Within these words of the sons of Korah, we learn a deep mystery. Although Korah had led a rebellion against Moses, his own descendants were not one within his doings. It surely must have been difficult for them. Yet they received and treasured the exercise, not to question God’s judgement, but to be still and to hold their peace, knowing that God is sovereign. Knowing that He will exalt Himself, and that He is with them and on their side and their refuge. Blessed are they that know God is on their side!
