Whom shall We send?
The angel flew and touched my lips
With a burning coal.
It did not singe
But purified my soul.
Who shall go for Us?
Whom shall We send?
“I will go.”
Was my feeble answer.
And yet a stronger resolve
I said, “Send me.”
No matter the unknown.
No matter the cross ahead
No matter the cost
Send me, precious Lord.
Without Thee I can do nothing,
Without Thee I’ll surely fail.
Oh be my anchor!
Keep me from drifting.
Take over the steering
Of my life.
Be not like a stubborn horse
That must be bridled
To be controlled
By its Master.
Bow at the first whisper
Of the Holy Spirit’s voice.
Tune my ear, dear Lord
To Thy voice.
Who can tell where the wind comes from?
Who can tell its destination?
Grant me grace to recognize
The rustling of the mulberry leaves
In the tree of life.
