Great Is Your Faith!

“But He answered and said, “it is not good to take the children’s bread and throw it to the little dogs.” And she said, “Yes, Lord, yet even the little dogs eat the crumbs which fall from their masters’ table.” Then Jesus answered and said to her, “o woman, great is your faith! Let it be to you as you desire” And her daughter was healed from that very hour. (Matt 15:27,28)

This woman had a need, but was not a Jew. Yet, unlike many of the Jewish nation at that time, she saw in Jesus the answer to her problem – her demon possessed daughter. As she worshiped Him, she had the request that He would heal her daughter. But, Jesus rebuffed her and refer to her as a little dog. Yet, this ‘insult’ did not deter her. In her humility she bowed still lower (in her worship) and admitted that even little dogs eat of the left overs. She was happy to be compared with a dog as long as she might have the left overs. Then Jesus praised her and gave her the desire of her heart. He healed her daughter from a distance, at that very hour.

Maybe you too are restricted in your travel, and yet you have this need within your heart. It can be your child, a family member or yourself. This mother was pleading on behalf of her daughter. Her humility and faith moved God’s heart. He can do the same for you.
